46 Verhandlungen der einunddreißigſten Verſammlung

7. Eine Lehrerwohnung wurde Ende 1926 zu Ingomar,
Ala., für $550 errichtet. Die Bewilligung belief ſich auf $600.

8. Zu Lamiſon, Ala., hat die Behörde eine Kirche⸗Schule
errichtet.

$45,408.12. Die Einweihung konnte am Dankſagungstag 1927 ſtatt⸗
finden. Das Gebäude iſt einfach, aber überaus zweckentſprechend. Was
lange währt, wird endlich gut. Die Studentenſchaft hat der Synodal⸗
konferenz folgendes Dankſchreiben geſchickt:

„Greensboro, N. C., 23. September 1927.

„Geliebte Freunde in Chriſto!

In reichem

„Achtungsvoll
„Die Studenten des Immanuel⸗
College.“

46 Proceedings of the thirty-first convention

7. A teacher's residence was erected at Ingomar, Ala., at the end of 1926 for $550. The appropriation amounted to $600.

8. At Lamison, Ala., the authorities have erected a church-school. For the building an unknown mission friend near Sheboygan, Wis., gave $1,000 and in addition $110 for the building site. The dedication was held on May 13, 1928.

9. Alexandria, La. For a chapel-school $6,000 was appropriated four years ago. Site and building cost $5,989. The dedication took place on June 25, 1927.

10. Atlanta, Ga. For a building site and a chapel-school $8,000 was appropriated four years ago. The children of the Middle District of the Missouri Synod have given $8,286.08 for this purpose. But the total cost amounted to $9,393.82. The old property is to be sold; the proceeds will more than cover the deficit. The chapel was dedicated on April 1, 1928.

11. Winston-Salem, N. C. Four years ago $8,000 was appropriated for a chapel in this largest city in North Carolina; site and building, however, cost only $7,521.93. The children of the Iowa and Minnesota Districts gave the funds. The dedication took place on April 22, 1928.

12. Dormitory and residence building at Immanuel College in Greensboro, N. C. The last appropriation two years ago amounted to $50,000. The building, however, cost only $48,019.70. The total receipts for this building since 1914 amounted, however, to only $45,408.12. The dedication could take place on Thanksgiving Day 1927. The building is plain but exceedingly suitable. What takes long turns out good in the end. The student body sent the following letter of thanks to the Synodical Conference:

"Greensboro, N. C., September 23, 1927.

"Beloved Friends in Christ!

"We, the student body of Immanuel College in Greensboro, N. C., take this opportunity to express to the congregations of the Synodical Conference our thanks that they have made possible the construction of the new residence hall for girls.

"When we returned from our vacation and found the new building, which now stands completed, well furnished, and conveniently and practically arranged, a feeling of great joy came over us. We are proud of the new residence. Therefore we bear witness to you, you generous benefactors, of our heartfelt thanks.

"The new residence hall remedies a need deeply felt for years. The building that was previously occupied by our girls was too small and not at all suited to the purpose, for which reason the new building was looked forward to with expectation. In rich measure our hopes have now been fulfilled, to our great joy.

"We are therefore determined to show ourselves worthy of the confidence you have shown us. We want, namely, to work together with our superiors so that the building will be kept beautiful and clean.

"We remain
"Respectfully yours,
"The Students of Immanuel College."
