3. It is the wish of the Conference that the president of each of the individual synods, both as regards the Joint Synods and their districts, send their reports to the presidents of the other synods, so that all may learn what is going on and being dealt with in the synods. (S.-K. 5 [1876], 54.) [S.-K. = Synodalkonferenz Proceedings]

V. On the Duties of the Secretary.

1. The secretary is to notify the committees for the examination of the synodical reports of their task and at the same time to see to it that the reports are delivered to them. (S.-K. 12 [1888], 57.) . . .

4. The secretary is charged with putting in order the matter of any debts on the printing of the synodical reports, namely to cause the presidents of the individual synods to give their treasurers instructions to send their respective share of the debt to the treasurer of the Synodical Conference. (S.-K. 8 [1879], 49.)

5. 6. At least six weeks before the convention of the Synodical Conference the secretary is to announce it in the respective church papers and to remind them that each credential of the delegates must be signed by the president and the secretary of the respective synod or district, and that one copy each of these credentials is to be sent to the president and the secretary of the Synodical Conference as well as to the pastor in whose congregation the convention is to meet. (S.-K. 3 [1874], 47; 20 [1904], 76; 28 [1922], 50.)

The president is always to appoint a committee which before each convention of the Synodical Conference is to audit on the spot the account books of the *Negermission* [mission among African Americans; the period's term "Negro Mission"]. (S.-K. 10 [1884], 89.)
