der Ev.⸗Luth. Synodalkonferenz von Nordamerika. 1930. 73
bringen.
Adopted.
Report of Committee on Nominations.
(Committee: Pastors J. H. Meyer, R. Avé-Lallemant, M. Niermann;
Mr. W. C. Martens.)
Your Committee on Nominations, in preparing the slate, found
itself confronted with the problem of presenting suitable lay can-
didates for the Missionary Board to fill the position in which the
present treasurer has served so capably and faithfully. Your Com-
mittee consulted with many brethren, especially with the Missouri
Synod Board of Directors and the Missionary Board of the Synodical
Conference. After painstaking deliberations your Committee arrived
at the conclusion that the honorable convention would act wisely if
it would delegate to its Missionary Board the privilege of supplying
this important position with a suitable person. At the request of
your Committee your Missionary Board adopted the following resolu-
tion: —
“Inasmuch as the Board of Directors of the Missouri Synod has
made the request that Mr. Theo. W. Eckhart, for reasons of health,
be relieved of all official duties in connection with the work of Negro
Missions and since we deem it difficult to elect a suitable successor
at this time, the Missionary Board herewith respectfully petitions the
Synodical Conference to refrain from filling this vacancy on the
Board and to delegate this privilege to the Missionary Board.”
Your Committee has incorporated this resolution in its report
and heartily recommends its adoption.
Adopted.
The Synodical Conference adopted the motion to express the
prayerful wish that the Lord grant to Mr. Eckhart a speedy restora-
tion to health.
Reports of Committees on Review
of Synodical Reports.
The reports of the committees appointed to examine the doctrinal
content of the synodical reports of the various synods and Districts,
and the action taken thereon by the Synodical Conference, were as
follows: —
Synod of Missouri. — Joint Synod: Action postponed. — Districts: Alberta and British Columbia: Approved. Argentine: No
synodical report received. Atlantic: Approved. Brazil: Approved.
California and Nevada: No synodical report received. Central: Ap-
proved. Central Illinois: No synodical report received. Colorado:
Approved. Eastern: Approved. English: Approved. Iowa: Ap-
proved. Kansas: Approved. Manitoba and Saskatchewan: Ap-
proved. The convention held that a certain questionable statement
in the synodical report was corrected at another place. Michigan:
No synodical report received. Minnesota: Approved. North Dakota

[German passage translated; English passages are printed in English and given verbatim.]
Church at Crete, Ill., has still not been revoked, we recommend to the Honorable Synodical Conference (*Synodalkonferenz*) that this matter be referred as soon as possible to the next instance, namely the General Presidium of the Joint Synods, and, if possible, be brought to a conclusion to the satisfaction of all the parties concerned.
