62 Proceedings of the twenty-second convention
The undersigned committee, at the commission of the Honorable Presidium, has conscientiously examined the report of the Honorable District Synod of Nebraska for the year 1905 and has found nothing in it that would be contrary to the Word of God and to the confession of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Subject of the doctrinal discussions: "The Education of Youth." However, we take the liberty of adding the following remark:
We miss, in the statements on pages 26 and 27 ff.: "Apart from the Catholics and a part of the Lutherans, most have an educational system," etc., any indication that the educational system of the Catholics or Papists would indeed make a Christian education possible, but is misused for an antichristian one.
F. Avé-Lallemant.
Ph. Sprengling.
The undersigned committee, at the commission of the Honorable Presidium, has conscientiously examined the report of the Honorable District Synod of Nebraska for the year 1906 and has found nothing in it that would be contrary to the Word of God and to the confession of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Subject of the doctrinal discussions: "On Christian Church Discipline."
C. F. Rutzen.
F. Stromer.
The undersigned committee, at the commission of the Honorable Presidium, has conscientiously examined the report of the Honorable District Synod of Nebraska for the year 1907 and has found nothing in it that would be contrary to the Word of God and to the confession of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Subject of the doctrinal discussions: "The Doctrine of Justification."
Heinr. Gieschen.
F. Günther.
IV. Treasurers' Reports.
1. Since the report on the treasury of the Negro Mission lay before the convention in print, its reading was dispensed with. The report of the auditing committee was read and adopted by resolution. The treasurer's report is in the appendix to these proceedings.
2. The report of the treasurer of the Synodical Conference was referred to a committee for reporting. The following report of the committee was adopted by resolution:
"Your committee appointed to examine the cash book has found everything in best order.
"Respectfully
"E. Hamann.
"O. Theobald.
"John Behnken."
