jederzeit Waſſer in hinreichender Fülle vorhanden ſei.

...eyes, and is still praised today as a glorious deed everywhere
Luther's name is honorably spoken.
Resolved, that the roughly $300.00 in debts incurred for the support
of those poor students at Fort Wayne be covered this once, as an
exception, from the synodical treasury; but that henceforth no such
debts be paid out of this treasury, which is not a relief fund for
poor students.
Whereas it has become apparent that the high amount of tuition owed by
those who do not intend to study theology, namely $100.00 annually
(see the report of 1874, p. 52), works to the institution's
disadvantage, and few colleges, if any, are likely to be found that
charge more than $40.00 in tuition annually:
Resolved, that, to make entry into the institution easier, tuition for
those not studying theology be reduced to $40.00 annually.
Whereas instruction in physics is of especially great importance in
our time, since those who contradict the divine Word chiefly try to
ground their objections on the findings of natural science as well,
and our students must therefore be put in a position to meet their
opponents effectively on that same ground; and whereas successful
instruction in natural science is hardly conceivable without the
instruments belonging to it:
Resolved, that an annual contribution of $50.00 be granted for the
acquisition of the aids necessary for instruction in physics at the
College at Fort Wayne.
Resolved, that all publications of our Synod — both those that have
appeared since its founding and are still in stock, and those still to
appear — be supplied in two copies each to the College library.
Whereas, in dry seasons, the College's residents can fall into the
utmost distress for lack of water, and such a water shortage would
also prove very harmful to the students:
Resolved, that a large additional cistern be built, so that water is
always available in sufficient abundance.
Whereas the College rooms' present hot-air heating in winter is so
inadequate and unreliable that it necessarily requires improvement:
Resolved, that the supervisory board, together with the faculty,
deliberate on how, with the means available, these deficiencies can be
adequately remedied in the most economical way.
Since, on this very day (May 24), the election of trustees for the
College must be carried out as required by law:
