56 Proceedings of the twelfth convention

7. Report on the synodical report of the Nebraska District of the Rev. Synod of Missouri of the year 1886.

The undersigned committee has, in accordance with the commission received, looked through the report of the Nebraska District of the Rev. Missouri Synod of the year 1886 and reports about it that the doctrinal discussions were conducted on the 6th petition of the holy Lord's Prayer. In a simple, clear and appealing manner the subject at hand is treated according to Scripture and Confession. The business proceedings show lively zeal and spirit of sacrifice for the kingdom of God.

Respectfully,
The Committee:

A. Kuhn.
Chr. Bender.

8. Report on the synodical report of the Eastern District of the Rev. Synod of Missouri of the year 1886.

The report deals, on the basis of the fourth petition in our Catechism, with the important question: "What teachings are there for our conduct in the present struggles between labor and capital, in that Christ puts the fourth petition into the mouth of us Christians: 'Give us this day our daily bread'?" Of the 4 theses proposed, the first two have been treated, and indeed quite thoroughly and in depth.

The undersigned have read the doctrinal discussion with great interest, since they themselves have had to occupy themselves with the matter at hand in recent years. The discussions held, also with regard to the labor question, are as clear and convincing as they are in accordance with Scripture and the Confessions.

Respectfully,
C. Dowidat.
Ph. Hölzel.
