der ev.⸗luth. Synodalconferenz von Nord⸗Amerika. 1888. 47
Im Anſchluß an dieſen Bericht faßte die Conferenz folgende Be⸗
ſchlüſſe:
beigegeben und Herr P. Hanſer als Glied belaſſen werde;
6. Beſchloſſen, daß Herr P. R. A. Biſchoff als Redacteur des
„Lutheran Pioneer“ wiedergewählt ſei.

of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1888. 47
In connection with this report the Conference adopted the following resolutions:
1. Resolved, that we approve the course of action of the Commission concerning the station Meherrin and, since the arrangement made is only a provisional one, instruct the Commission to fill this station again definitively with a missionary and thus to continue it.
2. Resolved, that the Commission have a church built at Springfield at once, as corresponds to the needs of the mission there. Since the execution of this resolution requires a considerable expenditure, the Commission shall request the congregations of the Synodical Conference [*Synodalconferenz*] by a circular to take up a collection for the benefit of the Negro Mission [*Negermiſſion*] in the near future. But in order that the Commission may be entitled to use also otherwise any incoming moneys that may not be needed for the building, the circular shall be drafted so as to say: the collection is intended for the purposes of the Negro Mission, in particular for the building at Springfield.
3. Resolved, that all members of the Commission for Negro Mission be re-elected for the next two years.
Pastor O. Hanser of St. Louis expressed the wish to be released both from the editorship of the "Missions-Taube" [Mission Dove] and from membership on the Commission. The work in his congregation was increasing while his strength was diminishing. Also he could not visit the mission stations in a proper manner. He therefore proposed Pastor H. Sieck of St. Louis in his place. — The Conference, however, believed it could grant the wish of Pastor Hanser only in part. Accordingly it was
4. resolved, that Pastor Sieck be added to the Commission as a fifth member and Pastor Hanser be retained as a member;
5. that the whole Commission at the same time form the editorial committee for the "Missions-Taube."
6. Resolved, that Pastor R. A. Bischoff be re-elected as editor of the "Lutheran Pioneer."
