(Anmerkung.
1. Der weſtliche Diſtrict: Miſſouri, Illinois, Louiſiana.
2. Der mittlere: Indiana und Ohio.
3. Der nördliche: Michigan und Wisconſin.
4. Der öſtliche: New York, Maryland, Pennſylvania und Diſtrict
Columbia.
Gemeinde⸗Ordnungen.
Verſchiedene Gemeinde⸗Ordnungen, welche zufolge vorjährigen Be⸗

(Note. — In the new constitution we have departed from some of the
provisions recorded in last year's report, p. 212 [concerning the
general president], because we found that they were unworkable, whereas
those now adopted are indeed workable, and also good and salutary. This
for readers' information and attention.)
The division of the Synod, already resolved last year, provisionally
into four district synods, has also been approved this year. The
districts, however, are to be fixed as follows:
1. The Western District: Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana.
2. The Middle District: Indiana and Ohio.
3. The Northern District: Michigan and Wisconsin.
4. The Eastern District: New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the
District of Columbia.
Congregations that may in future form in territory not named here, and
that wish to join our fellowship at next year's convention of the
general Synod, shall be free to turn to whichever district they have
confidence in, but are to expect the definitive assignment to the
proper district afterward from the general Synod.
Mr. Barthel's draft concerning the future shape of the Synod's treasury
system, along with the proposals appended to it regarding the
establishment of a so-called Cent Fund, were discussed, and Pastor Ernst
was thereupon charged with having the proposal printed in the
*Lutheraner* with a suitable preface and the necessary revisions.
Congregational Constitutions.
Various congregational constitutions, submitted pursuant to last year's
resolution of the Synod, were examined; faulty points were pressed, and
the persons concerned given the necessary advice. By far most of the
congregational constitutions, however, could not be discussed publicly
before the Synod at this year's convention for lack of time, although
the committees concerned had discharged their assignment. This matter
shall therefore be taken up again next year.
Tennessee Synod.
The Synod expresses its joy that the brethren of the Tennessee Synod are
laboring to bring such excellent writings of the Lutheran Church to
light. The next convention of the Tennessee Synod shall be attended by
delegates from us; if possible two shall go, namely Pastor Brohm and
Pastor Hoyer. Should these, or one of them, be prevented, Professor
Crämer is appointed as substitute for Pastor Hoyer, and Dr. Sihler as
substitute for Pastor Brohm.
Legacy of Ignaz Petzel of Buffalo.
The Trinity congregation at Buffalo, New York, reports that the legacy
bequeathed to the Synod of Missouri by the late Petzel is now due. It
amounts to about $130, and will be placed at the Synod's disposal, since
the congregation has purchased the property and...
