The foregoing roster shows that the Synod currently numbers 131
standing members, of whom 108 hold the holy preaching office, while the
rest serve the Church as teachers at our seminaries or parish schools. The
number of members is thus 17 more than in the previous year. Of these
members, 73 were present at this year's convention, namely 50 voting and
23 advisory members. In addition, as the roster shows, 24 congregational
delegates were in attendance, so that the total number of persons present
at the convention came to 97.

The president of the East Ohio Synod, the Rev. Pastor Zeumer, likewise
honored our convention this year with his presence and gladdened the
Synod with welcome news.

Also present as guests were the Rev. P. Albough of Carrollton, and a
converted Indian named Johannes.

Of the members not present according to the roster, only those marked
with an asterisk (*) were left unexcused; the rest were granted their
request to be excused for their non-appearance at this year's session. In
addition, the following congregations belonging to the synodical body
received, upon their request, an excuse for not sending a delegate: the
congregations of the Rev. Pastor Weyel, and further the congregations in
Paitzdorf, Waterloo, Monroe Co., Ill., Chicago, Evansville, Frankentrost,
Collinsville, Crete, Will Co., Ill., Minden, Sulphur Springs, Elk Grove,

Dissen, Cape Girardeau County, Mo., Eisleben, Mo., Centreville, Columbia,
Monroe County, Ill., Fulton County, O., Mishawaka, Ind., Elkhorn
Prairie, Freistadt and Kirchhayn, Wis.

The Synod's standing committees are, in the current year, with the
exception of No. 2, the same as in the previous year, namely:

seminaries, Prof. Walther and Dr. Sihler, together with the president,
Pastor Wyneken.
