of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1912. 41
Increase in workers: 9. In addition, 5 female assistants and one student serve in the school, all Negroes.
9. In property the Negro Mission owns 26 chapels, 8 schools, 5 parsonages, 2 colleges and 2 professors' residences with the lots belonging to them. The total property of the Negro Mission has an approximate value of $113,271.00.
Closing Word.
Thus an Honorable Synodical Conference [*Synodalkonferenz*] has once more been given an overview of the work of its Negro Mission, which it carries on in the name of its highly praised Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and in obedience to his command, which he gave shortly before his ascension. It is a difficult work, but also one blessed by God. To him be fervent thanks for all help hitherto! May he help also in the future, as he has helped until now! May he graciously grant that we pray ever more diligently, give ever more generously, and work ever more faithfully, so that the word of David may be fulfilled ever more: "Ethiopia shall stretch out her hands unto God."
In the name and by commission of the Commission for the Negro Mission
Christoph F. Drewes,
for the time being Chairman.
