Synodal⸗Conferenz.

vention are to report on the various synodical minutes, so that sufficient time and opportunity for careful examination of them be given to the same.
VI. Reports of the Presidents of the Individual Synods on the Agendas, Hymnals and Catechisms in Use Within Their Synods, and on Parish Schools.
Concerning this matter it was
resolved: that the president of the Synodical Conference [*Synodalconferenz*] has the duty to request urgently every president of the synods belonging to the Synodical Conference to submit, some months before the next convention of the Synodical Conference, a report on the use of agendas, hymnals, catechisms, and so forth, and on the state of the schools within his synod. To attain this end the president of the Synodical Conference shall draw up a form that the pastors are to fill out. He is first to send these forms to the presidents of the individual synods, and these are to be obliged to see to it that the forms are filled out by the pastors of their districts.
VII. Amendment of Point b. in § VI of the Constitution of the Synodical Conference Concerning the Time of Holding the Synodical Conference.
At its last year's convention the Synodical Conference had resolved to change Point b. in § VI of the Constitution of the Conference, reading: "Time of meeting: every year in July," so that it would read: "Time of meeting every two years," and to call upon the individual synods belonging to it to give their approval to this resolution. All the synods have now reported on it. For two years voted the Honorable Synods of Illinois, Missouri, the Norwegian Lutheran Synod, that of Ohio, and that of Wisconsin. The Honorable Minnesota Synod for its part wished to remain with the provision of annual conventions of the Conference, but declared at the same time that, if all the other synods should be for two years, it would, out of love, join these resolutions. So it was then
resolved, that in § VI, b. the wording henceforth be: "Time of meeting: every two years. [closing quotation mark absent in the print]
VIII. An Opinion on the Question: Which Catechism Is Most to Be Recommended to the Congregations?
For the answer to this question the Conference had been prompted by the following letter:
