92 Die letzte Oelung.

Stilles Vater unser bis zur sechsten Bitte:
Führe uns nicht in Versuchung.
Antwort: Sondern erlöse uns vom Uebel.
Hilf Du Deinem Knecht (Deiner Magd), o Herr.
Sende ihm Hilfe vom Heiligthume.
Antwort: Vor seinen Feinden.

Deine Barmherzigkeit mildiglich verleihen. Durch Jesum Christum, unsern
Herrn.

Antwort: Amen.

92 The Last Anointing.

Silent Lord's Prayer up to the sixth petition:
Lead us not into temptation.
Answer: But deliver us from evil.
Help your servant (your handmaid), O Lord.
Answer: My God, who trusts in you.
Send him help from the sanctuary.
Answer: And strengthen him out of Zion.
Let not the enemy overpower him.
Answer: And let not the unrighteous oppress him.
Be a strong tower for him.
Answer: Against his enemies.
Hear my prayer.
Answer: And let my cry come to you.
The Lord be with you.
Answer: And with your spirit.
Let us pray:

Lord God, heavenly Father, who take no delight in the death of the poor
sinner, and are not willing that they should perish, but that they be
converted and live: we beseech you earnestly that you would graciously
avert the well-deserved punishments of our sins and, to amend us,
mercifully grant your mercy. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Answer: Amen.

At this point the sick person may confess his sins and receive
absolution. At its close a penitential psalm may also be prayed,
spoken alternately. The close is made with a short Gloria. Then the
pastor says:

Beloved in the Lord Christ!

The holy apostle James says: "Is any among you sick? Let him call for
the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with
oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick,
and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will
be forgiven him. Confess your sins to one another and pray for one
another, that you may be healed." Since, then, almighty God, according
to his hidden counsel, has laid this our brother upon the bed of
sickness, and has called us here to pray for him, and he has also
confessed his sins and received forgiveness: so we will, obedient to the
apostolic command, lift up holy hands without wrath or doubting, and
pray for this our brother with our whole heart, and also anoint him with
oil, and firmly believe that this sickness will turn to the glory of God
and to the health of the sick person.

Let us pray:

God, who added to your servant Hezekiah three times five years,
grant that this your servant also be raised up, if it be good for him, to
