To Reaffirm New Orleans Resolutions

WHEREAS. The Synod has clearly spoken in past conventions
concerning the understanding of Article II of its Constitution
requiring the formulation and adoption of synodical doctrinal
statements in accord with Scripture (1973 New Orleans Resolu-
tion 2-12): and

WHEREAS, The Synod has maintained throughout its history
the eminent and inalienable right to formulate doctrinal state-
ments in dealing with aberrations and false teachings in and
outside its midst: and

WHEREAS, Such actions do not categorize it as a sect but
rather establish it as the true visible, confessional church
concerned with true purity of doctrine; therefore be it

Resolved. That the Synod reaffirm Resolutions 2-12, 3-01, and
3-09 adopted at the 1973 New Orleans convention: and be it
further

Resolved. That the Synod resist every effort to undermine or
rescind the above-cited resolutions; and be it finally

Resolved. That the Synod reaffirm its historic doctrinal
stance and resist any weakening or equivocating of its historic
theological position as expressed in synodical resolutions unless
