321. Heb. 2:14

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he
also himself likewise took part of the same: that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. KJV

Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself
likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy
him who has the power of death, that is, the devil. RSV

Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise
also partook of the same, that through death He might render power-
less him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. NASV

Since all the children share the same blood and flesh, he too shared
equally in it, so that by his death he could take away all the power of the
devil, who had power over death. JB ]

The children of a family share the same flesh and blood: and so he
too shared ours, so that through death he might break the power of him
who had death at his command, that is, the devil. NEB 2

Now since all these children have flesh and blood, He in the same
way took on flesh and blood in order to die and so take away all the
powers of him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. Beck

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their hu-
manity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power
of death — that is, the devil. NIV ‘

Since, we. God's children, are human beings— made of flesh and
blood—he became flesh and blood too by being born in human form:
for only as a human being could he die and in dying break the power
of the devil who had the power of death. LB 2

Since the children, as he calls them. are people of flesh and blood,
Jesus himself became like them and shared their human nature. He did
so that through his death he might destroy the Devil, who has the power
over death. TEV 2

Since, then, ‘the children,” havea common physical nature as human
beings, he also became a human being, so that by going through death

as a man he might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the
devil. PH
