224 — Todesanzeigen.
Amen.

224 — Death Notices.
He had suffered long and much; indeed, he had spent the last five months of his life lying on one side and enduring great pain. But the LORD had strengthened him to bear patiently all the suffering He had laid upon him, so that no complaint had passed his lips. He overcame through faith. To the LORD, who gave him the victory, be praise and glory forever! — On Thursday, the 26th of this month, the body of the departed was laid to rest in the cemetery at Zobten, with many fellow believers from the surrounding congregations and many other persons in attendance. In front of the house of mourning, Pastor Ehlers of Liegnitz, who had been invited to take part in the funeral service, delivered an address on Isaiah 28:29; at the grave, the deceased’s confessor, Pastor Karbe of Löwenberg, spoke on Luke 23:28. Members of the Lutheran congregation at Schooßdorf sang several arias accompanied by instrumental music. — May the LORD grant us all the death of this righteous man, who through the blood of the new covenant has entered into his rest! Amen.
