46 Proceedings of the thirtieth convention
Miscellaneous.
The session hours were from 9 to half past 11 in the morning and from
half past 2 to 5 in the afternoon. In the intervals various committees, especially the one
for Negro Mission, were almost continuously in consultation.
A proposal to conduct the proceedings in English as well was,
since everyone was free to speak in whatever language he liked, and since everyone
seemed to understand the German speeches, laid on the table.
A petition aimed at discontinuing the "Missionstaube" and the
Pioneer was referred to the Committee on Negro Mission. (See
its report.)
A greeting received by telegraph from the President of the Slovak
Synod, Rev. J. Bradac, was answered. Prof. J. Vojtko was
commissioned to convey in person the greeting of the Synodical Conference to the Slovak Synod,
which was to meet in the next few weeks.
A greeting likewise received by telegraph from the pastoral conference
of the Norwegian Synod, assembled at Mankato, Minn., was
likewise answered.
