4. Trinity, New Orleans.
firmierte Glieder. Der Kirchenbeſuch iſt gut.
5. Bethlehem, New Orleans. (Gegründet 1887. Miſ⸗
ſionar: G. M. Kramer,* ſeit Auguſt 1907.) Unter unſern gegen⸗
wärtigen Miſſionaren iſt P. Kramer der Senior, was die Dienſtzeit
anbetrifft.
6. Concordia in Carrollton, New Orleans. (Gegrün⸗
det 1912.)
gewinnen.

8 Proceedings of the thirtieth convention
if space permitted. He also reports at length on the
station at Pailets Land, which unfortunately had to be closed
in the year 1925.
4. Trinity, New Orleans. (Founded 1913. Missionary:
Siegmund Thies,* since November 1925.) This daughter of St. Paul's
congregation was served by Rev. Wildgrube until the middle of November 1925.
On 15 November Rev. S. Thies, formerly pastor at Geneseo, Ill.,
was installed as pastor of Trinity congregation. He also heads the school.
It was attended by 42 pupils. The congregation has recorded a
small growth. It numbers 57 souls and 50 confirmed
members. Church attendance is good.
5. Bethlehem, New Orleans. (Founded 1887. Missionary:
G. M. Kramer,* since August 1907.) Among our present
missionaries Rev. Kramer is the senior as regards length of service.
He has already been in the service of our mission for nineteen years,
and indeed at one and the same congregation. That is a loud-speaking
testimony. Not only as a writer, whose articles in the "Missionstaube" [Mission Dove]
are gladly read, but also as visitor of the Louisiana
district he renders valuable services to our mission.
His Bethlehem congregation is one of our soundest and best-informed Negro
congregations. It currently numbers 229 souls. That means an increase
of 20 souls. At Easter he had the joy of confirming the largest
confirmation class in the history of the congregation. It consisted
of thirteen persons, among them some adults. The mission
school was attended by 241 pupils. The Sunday school numbers
145 pupils.
6. Concordia in Carrollton, New Orleans. (Founded
1912.) Although Rev. Kramer* is pastor of the Bethlehem congregation
and visitor of the whole mission field in the state of Louisiana, he
nevertheless also serves the congregation in the suburb of Carrollton.
Like Bethlehem, the Concordia congregation has also recorded a small
growth. It numbers 40 souls and 31 confirmed members.
The school, in which Peter Robinson and Miss Eldria Taylor teach,
was attended by 112 children last school year. The Sunday school
has 73 pupils. Although the congregation numbers only 40 souls,
the Sunday morning services are attended on average by more than
37 persons, the Wednesday evening service by 20.
7. St. Paul's, Napoleonville. (Founded 1905. Missionary:
Wilfred J. Tervalon, since 1925.) This station is still
a cause of concern. It is fortunate that a few years ago we did not
undertake the new building that was requested, but repaired the old church.
The lodge evil is here still as bad as formerly. Also
some people have moved away. So the little congregation now numbers only
18 souls (13 fewer than two years ago) and 13 confirmed
members. Missionary Tervalon, who also keeps school, writes: "I have
repeatedly tried to obtain the consent of the parents of several school children
that the children might be baptized or confirmed by me;
but all in vain. I will try again in September,
when the children come back. I have hope of winning some.
We had a successful school year. The prospects
are that the body of pupils will be larger in the autumn." — Missionary
Tervalon thinks a mission station should be opened in the capital,
Baton Rouge. The place lies about sixty miles
north of Napoleonville. The matter is to be investigated.
