der Ev.⸗Luth. Synodalkonferenz von Nordamerika. 1926. 39
nehmen.
ſierer Theodor Eckharts und P. L. A. Wislers.
— Angenommen.

of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1926. 39
synod guarantee to raise the sum for the Negro Mission and
to pay it to the Board, which falls to the individual synods according to the
agreement mentioned in the next point. — Adopted.
2. That the officers authorized for this purpose of the various synods belonging to
the Synodical Conference (*Synodalkonferenz*) be asked to agree among themselves
according to what percentage the synods shall share in the
expenses for the Negro Mission. — Adopted.
On 9. Recommendation: That the Synodical Conference subscribe to the principle
stated here and encourage the congregations in larger
cities to undertake Negro mission work in their circles. — Laid on the table for the time being.
On 10. As synods and other bodies have a fund
for unforeseen expenses (Emergency Fund), the
committee recommends that the Synodical Conference also found such a fund for
the starting of new stations and for buildings that may become necessary,
and that for the next two years in all the sum of $10,000
be appropriated for this fund. — Adopted.
On 11. We recommend that the vacancy created by the resignation of Rev. Richard
Jesse be filled by the election of Prof. O. Böcler. — Adopted.
Further we recommend the re-election of all members of the
Board whose terms of office have expired: President Im. F. Albrecht, Treasurer
Theodor Eckhart and Rev. L. A. Wisler.
We further recommend that one member each from the
Norwegian and from the Slovak Synod be added to the Board, namely from the Norwegian Synod Rev. J. E. Thoen and from the Slovak
Synod Rev. Geo. Gona. — Adopted.
We recommend further that all representatives of the Negro Mission in the
individual synods and districts always be elected for two years. — Adopted.
We recommend the re-election of all representatives in the individual
synods and districts, with the following exceptions: For the South
Illinois District we propose Rev. Theo. Stiegemeyer, since the present
incumbent has asked that his re-election be dispensed with. For the
Minnesota District of the Missouri Synod we propose Rev. P. E. Ross,
since the present incumbent also serves on another mission board
and has quite enough to do. For the Michigan District of the Missouri Synod
we propose Rev. Louis Nüchterlein, since the present incumbent is also
chairman of the mission board of his district and thus can devote little time to the Negro
Mission. — Adopted.
Because the Board now has an office in the Concordia Publishing House, considerable
expenses arise for our Mission Director. Your committee recommends that
the sum of $15 monthly be appropriated to him for such expenses. Adopted.
Since experience teaches that at the synodical conventions the
report on the Negro Mission is often quite short and therefore not too
successful, the committee recommends that the Secretary of the Synodical
Conference be commissioned to address a request in writing to all presidents
to grant the representative of the Negro Mission at every synod at least thirty
minutes for his report. — Adopted.
