der Ev.⸗Luth. Synodalkonferenz von Nordamerika. 1926. 37

— An⸗
genommen.

— An⸗
genommen.

of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1926. 37

On 55., Pensacola, Fla. Since the number here is still very small and the
mission still very young, we recommend that no building be done here yet,
but that premises be rented. — Adopted.

On 60., Pilgrim, Birmingham, Ala. In order to gain a firm foothold here
and to be able to carry on the Lord's cause properly in this extremely important centre of our mission, the use of a larger
sum is absolutely necessary; we therefore recommend an appropriation
of $15,000. — Adopted.

On 34—61. In the whole Alabama field many teachers' residences
are needed. We recommend that six residences be built
where they are most needed, and that $600 each, thus $3,600 in all,
be appropriated for them. — Adopted.

On 65., St. Philip's, Philadelphia, Pa. We recommend approving the
purchase of the property mentioned, granting subsequently the sum of $8,784
and authorizing the Board to make the necessary
repairs. — Adopted.

On 66., Bethany, Yonkers, N. Y. The committee recommends that
no money be appropriated for Yonkers, but that this congregation shall
receive for ten years an interest-free loan of $15,000. — Adopted.

On 67., Grace, St. Louis, Mo. We recommend that the purchase
of the property mentioned be approved, the sum of $9,074.58
be granted subsequently and the Board be authorized to make the necessary
repairs. — Adopted.

B. Educational Institutions.

On 1., Immanuel Lutheran College, Greensboro, N. C. After thorough
deliberation of the whole situation at Greensboro your
committee recommends:

1. That the institution remain at Greensboro. — Adopted.

2. That the institution be left its present character, namely that it
admit not only such boys as wish to devote themselves to the ministry,
but also those who wish only to acquire a higher education, and that it also admit girls. — Adopted.

3. That for a new residence hall the sum of $50,000
be set aside. Of this sum $15,000 is already in the hands
of the Board, so that a further appropriation of $35,000 is necessary.
The committee recommends that this sum be appropriated. — Adopted.

4. We further recommend that the sum of $5,092.09, which was collected for
a professor's residence, be temporarily borrowed and
used for the building of the new residence hall. — Adopted.

5. Since the building should be put up at once, we recommend
further that the Synodical Conference (*Synodalkonferenz*) make every effort to collect the
necessary funds before the close of the year 1926. —
Adopted.

6. We further recommend that the Board, in order to be able to begin the
building at once, be authorized to borrow the necessary
funds and, if necessary, to mortgage the property at Greensboro. — Adopted.
