37. Our Savior, Poſſum Bend, Wilcox Co. (Landgemeinde.
Gegründet 1916. Miſſionar: Edward A. Weſtcott,* ſeit 1921.)
Lehre unterrichtet.
38. Zion, Taits, Wilcox Co. (Landgemeinde. Gegründet im
Oktober 1919. Miſſionar E. A. Weſtcott,* ſeit September 1921.)
Superintendent Schmidt ſagt in ſeinem Bericht: „Die Gemeinde zu
Taits iſt ſchön gewachſen. Sie zählt jetzt nahezu 100 Seelen. Dieſe
Station iſt unter außerordentlich ſchwierigen Verhältniſſen aufgebaut
worden, ſcheinbar unüberwindlichen Hinderniſſen zum Trotz.“
39. Our Redeemer, Longmile, Wilcox Co. (Landgemeinde.
Gegründet 1922. Miſſionar: E. A. Weſtcott,* ſeit Januar 1924.)
Seelen: 64. Abendmahlsberechtigte: 35.

black children come to know and love Jesus and share this blessed
knowledge with their brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents."
For a new house of worship (church and school under one
roof), which is to cost $1,500, our children in Ontario, Alberta
and Manitoba have given $1,397.79.
35. St. Paul's, Oak Hill, Wilcox Co. (Country congregation. Founded
1916. Missionary: C. Peay, since August 1917.) Souls: 74.
Communicant members: 51. Voting members: 11. We own here
a small parsonage, as at Rosebud.
36. Gethsemane, Hamburg, Wilcox Co. (Country congregation.
Founded 1924. Missionary: C. Peay.) This station was called into being through
the efforts of our renowned woman teacher Rosa Young,
whose parents have moved to Hamburg and with whom she is staying during
her illness. At first Superintendent Schmidt held services on the "porch." Then Rosa rented the
only vacant log house in the neighbourhood. It was a quite wretched
home for church, school and Sunday school. But God moved
an unnamed friend of the mission in Wisconsin to give $1,000.
For this a suitable, handsome building was erected
last autumn. May God raise up for our mission still more such friends
who build him a house in the poor Negro Mission in which his
name's honour is proclaimed for the salvation of immortal souls for whom
Christ shed his blood! — In the short time of its existence
the congregation at Hamburg has already gained 90 souls; among them
are 54 confirmed members.
37. Our Savior, Possum Bend, Wilcox Co. (Country congregation.
Founded 1916. Missionary: Edward A. Westcott,* since 1921.)
Missionary Westcott serves the four stations at Possum Bend, Taits,
Longmile and Camden, which together number 271 souls, 133 communicant
members and 27 voting members. To the congregation at
Possum Bend belong 75 souls and 35 communicant members. These
35 confirmed members have on average gone three times in six months
to the table of the LORD. Near the chapel flows a
"creek" that swells when it rains. So it happens that Missionary
Westcott sits with his confirmands on this side of the church in the open air on
a fallen tree and instructs them in God's Word and Luther's
doctrine.
38. Zion, Taits, Wilcox Co. (Country congregation. Founded in
October 1919. Missionary E. A. Westcott,* since September 1921.)
Superintendent Schmidt says in his report: "The congregation at
Taits has grown nicely. It now numbers nearly 100 souls. This
station has been built up under extraordinarily difficult conditions,
in spite of seemingly insurmountable obstacles."
39. Our Redeemer, Longmile, Wilcox Co. (Country congregation.
Founded 1922. Missionary: E. A. Westcott,* since January 1924.)
Souls: 64. Communicant members: 35. The 35 communicant members
went to the table of the LORD 97 times in the first six months of this year,
each member thus on average almost three times in the
half year.
40. Cross, Camden. (Founded in the autumn of 1924. Missionary: E. A. Westcott.*)
Camden is the county seat of Wilcox County.
Here the work was begun in the autumn of the year 1924 by Rev. Westcott.
He has gathered a congregation of 19 communicant members and
34 souls. The services and the school are held in
