of the Ev. Luth. Synodical Conference of North America. 1920. 47
The Joint Ev. Luth. Synod of Wisconsin and Other States had sent in the following letter:
To the Rev. Ev. Luth. *Synodalkonferenz* [Synodical Conference], God's grace first of all!
Dear fathers and brethren in the LORD!
The undersigned take the liberty of pointing out that the merger, prepared already years ago, of the synods of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Nebraska into one body has in the course of time been realized and has taken shape in such a way that there now exists a Joint Ev. Luth. Synod of Wisconsin and Other States, which comprises the following eight districts: Northern Wisconsin District, Western Wisconsin District, Southeastern Wisconsin District, Minnesota District, Michigan District, Nebraska District, Pacific Northwest District, Dakota-Montana District.
In the name and by commission of the Joint Synod
Respectfully,
(Signed.) G. E. Bergemann, President.
G. Hinnenthal, Secretary.
Goodhue, Minn., 17 August 1920.
The Synodical Conference took formal notice of this reorganization and wishes the Joint Wisconsin Synod God's rich blessing for great and prosperous growth.
Charity Matter.
In regard to a petition of the Charities Conference as well as one of the Deaconess Society, the following committee report was adopted as a resolution:
The committee of the Rev. Synodical Conference, concerning a petition of the Ev. Luth. Charities Conference, or of the Deaconess Society, takes the liberty of submitting the following report:
We recommend referring the request of the Charities Conference for official recognition and for the establishment of an authority advising the Conference in certain cases and controlling to a certain degree the collection of gifts, to the synods that form the Synodical Conference, since the Synodical Conference is not the competent body for this.
The same we recommend with regard to the similar request of the Deaconess Society.
With all respect, your committee signs:
L. Fürbringer. W. C. Seehausen.
G. E. Bergemann. M. E. Dobberfuhl, Secretary.
Hugo Grimm.
