As an ardent supporter of Lutheran education, I believe the
growth of the Synod will be sustained by attracting and retaining our youth. The principles of the LCMS are Gospel based
and are true and unchanging. Synod leadership should nurture those principles by continuing to adapt to the expectations
of those who will follow us. If elected regent, I will leverage
my time, energy, and 20+ years of leadership and management expertise in the high-tech industry toward providing our
students with a quality Lutheran education based on spiritual
growth, community engagement, and lifelong service.

We live in a world of change which presents challenge and
opportunity to our church. We must face change in a Christcentered, Bible-centered manner. Our Concordia universities
have worked to retain their Lutheran-Christian identity while
facing changes in society, in the students they serve, and in
ever broadening-purposes. But, it is critical that these schools
increase efforts in training more individuals for full-time/professional ministry in our congregations and schools, as well as
for being Christian lay leaders in church and community.

The Lutheran faith is passed on primarily through teaching. It is vital
that we continue to train teachers
who can pass on that faith in school
and Sunday school classrooms. Our universities play a significant role in the passing on of the faith. Serving as a regent is
one way I can contribute.

Because I firmly believe that the Concordia universities provide the LCMS the opportunity and responsibility to provide
sound baccalaureate and graduate education, I have allowed
my name to be listed as a nominee for the Board of Regents,
Portland. In my experience as a nurse and educator of nurses,
I have learned that spirituality and a growing belief in Christ
Jesus have a positive influence on the quality of the care that
is given. A Christ-centered life gives support for a Christcentered professional who is able to carry out Christ-given
responsibilities. Concordia universities can provide these
professionals.
