My vision for our Synod is that we expand our efforts in mission work, outreach, and Christian education. My focus for
Concordia is to provide quality graduates for full-time church
work. Also, to help promote the newly created College of
Business and Organizational Leadership to provide Christian
leaders for tomorrow’s business community.

Having attended Trinity Lutheran School, Clover, ID, for
eight years and later graduating from Concordia (College)
University, Seward, NE, with a degree in education, I thoroughly understand, appreciate, and value Lutheran schools
and education. Throughout the whole world, Lutheran schools
and Lutheran teachers are among the best. It is my hope and
desire to serve my Synod and work to maintain a sound scriptural and confessional institution that teaches the Gospel of
forgiveness, comforting the believer and converting the lost.

It is a privilege to be nominated for a position on Selma’s
Board of Regents. I have the highest regard for this school
and would look forward to helping Selma meet its challenges and serve Christ in unique and wonderful ways. Now a
retired parish pastor, professor of philosophy, and university
administrator, I would be excited about using my experiences and talent. Long committed to the ideals of the Civil
Rights Movement, I have taught courses on the subject and
have taken college students on related tours. My commitments
are grounded in faithfulness to Scripture and to the Lutheran
Confessions.

With the Lord helping me, I
would continue to work closely
with the president, his staff, and
the other regents to preserve and
improve Concordia University
St. Paul, in harmony with the Holy Scriptures and the
Lutheran Confessions, to be an institution in service to the
congregations of the LCMS. While maintaining the historic responsibility of recruiting and supporting professional
church workers, this work includes preparing students in every
