By bringing the diverse views of these minorities to the decision-making arena, we may be able to see different points of
views, different solutions, and possibly different outcomes. It
is through diverse inclusion of the leadership that we will be
able to love and serve each other better.

When the president of Concordia University Nebraska
asked me to consider nomination for the Board of Regents,
I was honored. I know how vital each of the schools in the
Concordia University System is, having served as a parish pastor for 19 years. In addition to providing excellence in
academic and career development, they also equip the next
generation of Christian leaders. If elected, I will be committed
to assisting Concordia University’s staff and students through
prayer, theological support, leadership, financial wisdom,
and mission zeal. I also am proud that Concordia University
Nebraska annually graduates the most professional church
workers.

I believe the mission of our Synod
is continually strengthened by the training of its members and
potential new members. The Concordia University System
serves the LCMS by providing quality education as well as
being a valuable ministerial outreach into local communities.
As an educational system, the Concordia system historically
has provided well-educated and doctrinally prepared future
leaders (both ministers and laypersons) for our churches and
schools. In an ever-changing society, I believe this is key to
the future strength of the LCMS and vital in meeting its mission both regionally and nationally.

I rejoice that God has gifted our
Synod with the most beautiful, Bible-based, Christ-centered
doctrine on earth. We need to devote our energy to sharing
the Good News of Christ. One of the greatest strengths of the
LCMS is our emphasis on Christian education. I am a passionate promoter and supporter of Lutheran education—especially
our parochial schools and Concordia University System. In
our schools, lives are shaped with the truth of Christ for various vocations. This is why I would be honored to serve on the
Board of Regents of Concordia University in Nebraska.

Our Concordia University System is one of the most powerful and far-reaching tools that the Lord of the Church has
given the LCMS to take the Good News of Life in Jesus to a
world desperately in need of hearing and believing in Him,
through professional church workers and those trained for
other careers in our schools. The Synod must strive to encourage and equip our schools to attract students and faculty who
will seek excellence in academic and Christ-centered standards, sending men and women out into the world seeking to
bring others to know Jesus.
