As a pastor and CUW graduate, I affirm CUW’s mission
to prepare church workers. As the father of a CUW physical therapy graduate, I affirm CUW’s mission to prepare lay
leaders in God-pleasing vocations. As a retired CFO for one
of our Synod’s premier high school associations, I affirm a
vision that couples fiscal responsibility with a “can do” attitude. CUW must continue to advance itself as one of the best
private universities in the region, while continuing to serve its
LCMS base. I will bring balance, energy, enthusiasm, and a
desire to move forward to the Board of Regents.

Our Synod has navigated through
many tumultuous periods in her
history, and I am heartened that we continue to openly struggle with the differences that remain, rather than ignoring
them or wasting time arguing about who is blame for them.
We have been freed in Christ Jesus to communicate honestly
and work together even when we don’t agree about everything. I sincerely believe that education—in Scripture, in our
Confessions, in our historic traditions, and in new trends and
challenges that arise as we walk with one another—is essential
for the LCMS to firmly stand in future generations.

I desire to continue to be a part of
the mission of Concordia University
Wisconsin because I believe that if
our Synod is to be truly “Ablaze” with the Gospel, then our
Concordia universities are an essential part of that mission.
At Concordia Wisconsin, as at our other schools, students are
shaped in “mind, body, and spirit” for service to Christ and to
the world. Not only are pastors, DCEs, and teachers trained
for service in the church, but doctors, physical therapists, and
nurses are also trained to serve in their vocations as living witnesses to the Gospel.

If elected, I would be humbly honored to serve the Synod in any nominated capacity, as God has
abundantly blessed me through my educational, professional,
and congregational experiences. As we are called to be bold
and faithful stewards, we have been given a precious gift and
a daunting task. Fortunately, our God has given us His Word
and Sacraments. He has given us what we need to boldly proclaim, along with the apostle Paul, “For I decided to know
nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1
Cor. 2:2). To God alone be the glory!

The LCMS has a long-standing tradition of the highest quality
educational ministries. Beginning in the Lutheran preschools
and grade schools, carrying into our high schools and colleges,
and culminating in our seminaries, what started in the 19th
century has adapted for the early 21st century. The challenges
of this time require a willingness to look to new opportunities without forgetting what makes this mission of the Gospel
great. As a CUW graduate and pastor for 14 years, I am committed to do all I can to be a part of this ongoing tradition,
which has served the Gospel well.
