Regardless of the organizational shape or form which LCMS
structure may take in the future, continued access to the
resources, guidance, and national leadership for Lutheran
schools, early childhood education centers and care providers, families, youth, and whole life stewardship will be needed
by LCMS congregations and districts. These District and
Congregational Services Ministry Areas facilitate growth in
discipline, service to the neighbor, and increased opportunities
to spread the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ to those
for whom He died and rose again.
My family and I reside in
Champaign, IL. I currently teach
4th grade at St. John Lutheran
School. Since my husband is
the campus pastor at University
Lutheran of the U of I, I also have the privilege of working with college students by directing the choir and playing
in our brass choir. I have over 30 years experience in working with church choirs. I have served on the worship and the
nominations committees for the Central Illinois District. I feel
honored to be nominated, and I would be very willing to do
my best in serving the church in this capacity.

I was baptized and raised ALC/ELCA, married into the
LCMS, traveled through evangelical circles, then returned
again to find a permanent home in the LCMS. I came to value
the strength our Synod has in its faithful adherence to the
Lutheran Confessions, which bring clarity to the unchanging
Word of God. We have the power of the Gospel to vibrantly
and lovingly share with people who are hurting and searching in a world of constant change and uncertainty. With one
voice, we proclaim this Gospel both corporately, through
Word and Sacrament, and individually, as we love and serve
our neighbors.
It would be an honor to have the opportunity to continue
serving with the dedicated professionals in District and
Congregational Services who provide valuable resources to
districts and congregations in the areas of Lutheran Schools,
Stewardship, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and Family
Ministry. DCS truly represents “The Church at Work”—providing value resources to assist pastors and laymen in bringing
the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a sinful world. Regardless of the
governance structure that may emerge from this convention, it
is important that the LCMS continues to make resources available to districts and congregations in these crucial ministry
areas.

The BDCS is positioned to play a vital role in advancing the
Lord’s ministry. The growing realization that it’s time to
work through our challenges as a church family means that
we need to have clear, productive communication at all levels.
We need to do more than publicize: we need to listen, adapt,
and respond clearly so that appropriate encouragement, counsel, direction, and servant leadership may be provided. I have
demonstrated the ability to foster authentic conversations for
the sake of the Gospel, and, should I be elected, pledge to
work faithfully toward these ends, with the help of God.
