Gospel story is an exciting opportunity. If elected to serve as
a member of the CPH Board of Directors, I would share my
experiences as a church officer, leader of Bible Study programs, and businessman to help expand the outreach of the
CPH.

LCEF BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [

1 ordained or commissioned minister, 2 laypersons to be
elected

I pray that by God’s loving guidance the LCMS can work united in
the Word and our Lutheran Confessions to bring the promise
of our salvation in Christ to the world. We should reach out by
prudently combining the strengths of our strong traditions and
the best 21st century technologies.

Qualifications: The Board for Lutheran Church Extension
Fund is responsible to the Synod to provide financial resources
and services for ministry, witness, and outreach to the LCMS
primarily by offering investments which, in turn, are used to
finance construction of facilities, purchase of sites, buildings
and equipment, and loans to rostered church workers, etc. In
addition, LCEF offers a wide range of services such as demographics, planning, and architectural services. Board members
should have a broad range of experience in one or more of the
following: financial services, investments, strategic ministry
planning, capital campaign, loans and real estate, legal, banking, administration, and marketing. Experience on district
LCEF boards is also desirable.

The LCMS has a long history of faithfulness to God’s Word
and the pure teaching of the Word and Sacraments. I pray that
we continue on this course regarding the right-hand kingdom.
Regarding the left-hand kingdom, I would like us to maximize
the use of our financial gifts, reducing excess wherever possible at all levels and funneling a larger percentage of donations
into fiscally responsible evangelistic and human care efforts
that spread the Gospel, produce faithful resources for churches
and pastors, and exercise our faith by proclaiming salvation
and showing mercy to people at home and around the world.

I believe in LCEF’s mission as a
Christ-centered servant partner of
The Lutheran Church—Missouri
Synod, supporting the Church in fulfilling its mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ by ensuring that funds and
services are available now and in the future. I believe a high
accountability/low control approach to board governance
allows executive leadership and staff to respond as needed
to current and future challenges and opportunities to support
the Mission of God. I hope LCEF can grow even stronger and
more capable of fulfilling its mission by means of a bold and
responsible approach to its mission.
