Having sent all five of our children to LCMS parochial
schools, my wife and I are very pleased with this treasure
in the Synod. At the high school level, I was pleased at the
Lutheran School Association (LSA) in Decatur, IL, to have
taught sophomores a “NT Survey Course” and seniors a class
in “Comparative Theology.” Part and parcel of the Gospel
is the privilege of teaching people the humanities and theology so that they are equipped to serve their neighbor in their
respective vocations.

The Lutheran Church—Missouri
Synod is blessed with the pure Gospel. What a wonderful mission we have been given by God to share that Gospel. Our
Concordia universities, like our church body, are made up of a
great diversity of people preparing for different vocations. Yet
we are all part of one body in Christ (1 Cor. 12:27). What a
wonderful opportunity we have to prepare students and members in all vocations to share God’s Word…Word that creates
comfort and hope. Word that creates saving faith. Word that
the world so desperately needs. May God keep us faithful to
His Word.

With Christian education a founding pillar of our heritage,
our CUS fosters continued dialog about our faith walk and
daily life in the 21st century. Its continued excellence and viability in preparing people for service to church and world is
a direct response to our Lord’s directives. CSP is a very special place with a passion for sharing the Good News within a
diverse urban community, a passion that students take into the
21st century. A Lutheran educator and administrator for over
40 years, I wish to continue as a regent to be part of the exciting ministry at CSP.

In an increasingly secularized
society, it is essential that God’s
people be well equipped to articulate and demonstrate the Gospel of
Christ. Our colleges and universities have the responsibility to both train future church workers
and equip faithful disciples for service to the church, home,
and community. My wife and I are products of the Concordia
University System; our children are also Concordia graduates.
I am a thankful supporter of our Synod’s higher education
system in general, and Concordia University, St. Paul, in
particular.

God has blessed each of us with
unique talents and gifts to be used
in service to others through various vocations. Thanks be to
God for the Lutheran education provided by the universities in
the Concordia system. This quality education allows students
to learn about who they are within the context of the Gospel
and equips them with the training necessary for service both
as professional church workers and lay leaders. The important
combination of teaching in the confessional Lutheran faith
and a community of worship and Christian fellowship provide
nurture and support in preparation for service throughout the
world.
