PROPOSED AGENDA
Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care. Serving as overseers—not
because you must. but because you are willing. as God wants you to be: not
greedy for money, but eager to serve: not lording it over those entrusted to you,
but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you
will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. (| Peter 5:24)
THE STRENGTH AND PROMISE IN THE OFFICE
OF THE PUBLIC MINISTRY
A “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be
made salty again? It isno longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and
trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be
hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put
it on its stand, and it gives tight to everyone in the house. In the same way. ket
your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your
Father in heaven.” ( Matt. 5:13-16)
“Remain in me, and | will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself: it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the
vine; you are the branches. {f a man remains in me and | in him. he will bear much
fruit: apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5)
“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends
himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. {2 Cor. 10:17-18)
But as for you, continue in what you have leamed and have become convinced
of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy
you haye known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for
salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that
the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (> Tim
314-17)
