Like the great servant of God. King David.
I see God's greatness and rich goodness con-
tinually being showered upon our church, our
Synod, and the institutions which help to
prepare the “called people of God" for the
glorious opportunities of ministry.
The future is boundless and filled with the
promise of God's presence and His guidance. I
look forward to being a part of God's army as
ourchurch marches into the 21st century filled
with the assurance that “with God all things
are possible” and especially for those who
have been “called according to His purpose
and love the Lord.”
Ronald Reinhardt
I look forward to this opportunity which
will allow me to serve as an active voice for
Concordia, Austin, in the Southern District.
Donald E. Schmidt
Being a member of the Board of Regents of
Concordia Lutheran College, Austin, TX, is a
challenge which allows a person to be a viable
part of the Synod as one interacts, implement-
ing the resolutions of the Synod as they relate
to Concordia as it moves forward in providing
quality Christian education at the college level.
Clarence Weiser
After spending over 20 years teaching in
the Lutheran parochial school systems in
Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas, I think it is
important that our colleges produce graduates
who are ready to serve the Lord, wherever they
find themselves.
We need leaders in our congregations who
are doctrinally sound, technically proficient,
and especialy well-trained to communicate the
Gospel.
In the Southwest we also need to address
the needs of Hispanics, the Negroes, and other
minorities as we prepare workers for His
kingdom.
All our efforts would be in vain if we fail to
communicate Jesus and His love.
Clarence Dockweiler
Ida M. Hansen
Education, Christian and public, has been
a major portion of my life. Experience in the
public sector has made me greatly value Chris-
tian schools. My three children have all
attended Christian colleges, including Con-
cordia, Austin. To me, Concordia has great
NOMINATIONS
potential. Its recent expansion has created
new and greater challenges. Continued growth
in student enrollment, quality faculty, excell-
ent facilities, along with expanded curriculum
and student activities would be my goals in
this position.
With the Lord's help I would work to help
Concordia equip the saints for their own lives
and for service in His kingdom and in the
world.

The most recent years of our Synod’s life
were years of conflict. It is most gratifying to
witness the healing of the Gospel, especially
during the last few vears. As we move daily
into the future it is my prayer that our vision of
the church more and more equals our Lord's
calling and commission.
Lester Zeitler
William L. Baessler
Robert T. Beckmann
Our Synod has tremendous potential and
has resources to accomplish tasks of ministry,
especially to the minorities of the cities.
Emphasis should be placed in its systems of
education, especially in training minority
church vocation candidates. With its faithful
adherence to Scripture God has blessed and
will continue to bless its efforts.
Henry G. Appel, Sr.
Robert Heichberger
Leroy Saylor
Arnold K. Weber
Experience in the field of Christian educa-
tion as a pupil in Zion’s Lutheran Church
School in Schenectady, followed by years of
S.S. teaching, as a sponsor of Martin Luther's
Christian Day School in Pennsauken, and
broad experiences on school boards suggests
that the Synod’s future will be most promising
if it involves and commits itself to expanding
Christ-centered education in all of its schools.
Positive and dynamic results would
become evident as we grow in spreading the
Gospel.
Christ-centered education may well be our
only hope for the church as well as the nation.

Our church has remained strong under
God’s blessing through its system of Christian
education, beginning with our day schools and
advancing up through our Synod’s system of
high schools and colleges. This whole system
is important to the future of a strong and
viable church that can continue to exercise a
beneficial influence on others by its faithful
