310 OTHER REPORTS

Int’] LLL Groups

The Int’] LLL also serves LCMS congregations through its
affiliated groups program. Presently there are about 1,500 such
groups in congregations throughout North America. These
groups represent the entire range of congregational auxiliar-
ies—men’s clubs, women’s organizations, couples clubs, Bible
study groups, Sunday schools, voters assemblies, etc. The most
rapidly increasing category of LLL-affiliated groups is young
adult gorups, with about 85 such groups currently affiliated
with the League. The League serves these groups by providing
planning and program resources, Bible study materials, and
service project suggestions. Many groups are participating in
the League’s ‘Share Christ” Bible study program which pairs
a local group with another group from a different country or
culture for Bible study. An increasing number of groups are
also engaging in fair booth ministry at county, community,
and state fairs using free or low cost display and handout
materials provided by the League.

Evangelism Referral

Through its media programs, through its “‘Added Dimen-
sion” Lutheran Hour rallies, through multimedia campaigns,
through fair booth ministry, and in a variety of other ways the
League is involved in evangelism outreach. In addition to these
evangelism outreach projects, through its mail counseling
department the League provides the names and addresses of
people who write in response to the League’s media programs
to the nearest LCMS congregation for evangelism follow up. In
this evangelism referral service the League works closely with
the Board for Evangelism Services.

Budget Summary

Through its radio, television, and print ministries the Int'l
LLL continues to reach out to people all over the world with the
saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Although it is impossible to get
a precise measure of the size of our audience, we do know that
we are reaching many millions with the Gospel and generating
many thousands of opportunities for personal follow up.

We recognize this as atremendous blessing, yet at the same
time it presents us with a tremendous challenge as the cost of
our present ministries continues to increase, and exciting new
opportunities for reaching out with the Gospel continue to open
up to us.

This year we have set a budget goal of slightly over $12
million, the largest budget goal ever set by the Int’] LLL. As in
the past, we must rely on congregations and members of the
LCMS to provide the largest portion of funds to meet our budget
needs. We are confident that, under the blessing of God, you
will provide that support through increased congregational
participation in Lutheran Hour Sunday and Television Sunday
and through increased support by individual LCMS members
as “Bringing Christ to the Nations Support Plan’ members,
Lutheran Hour and Lutheran Television Sponsors, and Int'l
LLL members. For that we offer our heartfelt thanks.

We also ask you to continue to remember our worldwide
ministry in your prayers. And we hope you will continue to look
on the Int’l LLL as an organization dedicated to serving our
Lord and His church, both through our worldwide Gospel-
outreach ministries and through our programs and projects
designed to involve laypeoplein a meaningful, personal minis-
try as leaders, workers, and Spirit-filled contributors to the
overall work of proclaiming the Gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ—whose we are, whom we serve, and whom we who are
His people are called on to share with people everywhere.
