menſchliche Ordnung iſt, Unordnungen in Betreff derſelben, wo ſie nun

Paſtor A.

Here we should know that, because the manner of delimitation is after all merely a human arrangement, irregularities in this respect, where they simply cannot be abolished at once, can be borne without the conscience being injured by such bearing.

Deaf-Mute Institution [*Taubſtummen⸗Anſtalt*].

With great joy the Synodical Conference [*Synodal⸗Conferenz*] received the report that a society has been formed in and around Detroit for the establishment of a Lutheran deaf-mute institution, connected with an orphanage to be founded near that city, and that a suitable teacher has already been called for the institution. The Conference commends this important institution to all its congregations for intercession and support through charitable gifts. The latter may be sent to Rev. A. Hügli, Detroit, Mich.

Lutheran Children's Paper [*Lutheriſches Kinderblatt*].

The Concordia Conference, consisting of the pastors of the Ohio and Missouri synods in and near Pittsburg, Pa., has founded a children's paper under the above title. This paper has already met with such friendly reception in many quarters that it can probably soon appear at a reduced price and then also more often than before. Any financial surplus of the undertaking is to be used again for the paper itself. The Conference gladly granted the request to commend the little paper to the best of its ability in its circles.

Concerning the "Satan's Press" [*Satanspreſſe*].

The following question was laid before the Conference for deliberation:
"In view of the fact that the secular and political press of this country works like a corrosive poison in the whole life of the people, the Synod of Minnesota respectfully asks whether the Synodical Conference could not take vigorous steps, for its part, to work against this evil."

The Conference then did enter into this question. In our time, and especially in America, very much is read, and the political papers in particular form the general reading here, so that it is almost a disgrace if anyone has no such paper in the house. Unfortunately, however, these papers are for the most part of such a kind that reading them does immeasurable harm among our people, especially among the young. Not only do many of the political newspapers fight openly and directly with the weapons of scorn and mockery against the Church and kill
