„granten⸗Miſſion;
ernannten Committee in folgender Form angenommen:
„a.) durch regelmäßige Collekten,

...take part, and not to do too little for the cause, because we abhor it when other synods trumpet their work abroad again and again and thus do too much for the cause. The right way lies precisely in the middle. We should not grow weary of commending the blessed work, in the right manner, ever anew to our circles, in our church papers, at our synodical assemblies and however else we can.
The Synodical Conference [*Synodal⸗Conferenz*] passed, for the time being, the following resolutions [*Beſchlüſſe*] concerning this matter:
"1.) The Synodical Conference recommends to all congregations belonging to it to take up collections from time to time for the Emigrant Mission;
"2.) Rev. Missionary Pastor Keyl is kindly requested to give communications about his work, from time to time, not only in the 'Lutheraner' but also in the other church papers of our circles, and so to lay this common cause on the congregations' hearts."
Thereupon proposals relating to this matter, from a committee appointed expressly for the purpose, were adopted in the following form:
"Since the Synodical Conference already lists in its Constitution, as a part of its activity, Christian care for immigrants in the port cities, but this activity is already partly carried out by the Venerable Synod of Missouri and aimed at by the Venerable Norwegian Synod, while the work ought properly to be carried on by all the synods; the Synodical Conference therefore takes the liberty of putting to both sister synods named the inquiry whether it is not time to let the other associated synods take part in this work hitherto performed by them alone? The plan might perhaps take shape as follows:
"1.) The Synodical Conference declares the work hitherto carried out by One Synod to be its own, for which it has to provide with all means of love.
"2.) The personnel, both as to missionaries and committees, would remain the same for the time being; only the missionaries and the treasurer would have to report each year to the Synodical Conference. To the latter all funds would be sent directly.
"3.) Each synod connected with the Synodical Conference would have to regard it as its duty to work for this cause in all its congregations,
"a.) by regular collections,
