Theſis 1.

Das einzige innerliche Gemeinſchaftsband zwiſchen den einzelnen luthe⸗

Church Fellowship.

Most of the morning sessions were devoted to discussion of the above subject, the following eighteen theses, together with the related "Preliminary Remarks," having been laid before the Conference:

The term "church fellowship" is not treated here in the wider sense. For in and according to that sense, on the ground of the confession of Holy Scripture as the Word of God, a certain church fellowship already exists among all congregations standing in this confession, over against heathens, Jews and Mohammedans.

Rather, this term is taken here in the narrower sense, as the fellowship of the Evangelical Lutheran congregations over against the more or less corrupted churchly communions that hold false belief.
