Was nun die Bedürfniſſe unſerer Stationen fürs nächſte Jahr betrifft,
ſo ſind ſie vorausſichtlich folgende:

1. Station Bethanien $ 265.00
Anmerkung.
   Ueberſchuß in unſere Miſſionscaſſe fließen.

werde. Ihm allein übergeben wir den ferneren Fortgang der Heidenmiſſion;

Since until now no settled text existed of the Lutheran catechism, of several Lutheran hymns, and of a small liturgy [*Agende*, order of service] in the Indian language that would have satisfied the missionaries on all sides, the printing of the above items could not yet be undertaken; but now, through the efforts of the missionaries and their interpreters, the text has been established and guaranteed to be faithful in meaning. The printing of this little book is therefore to be procured shortly.

It is a great joy for the commission to be able to report to the members of the Synod that at Fort Wayne another mission student has once again been admitted who has the earnest intention of devoting himself to the service of the heathen mission, and that Pastor Crämer has sent his eldest son Heinrich to the Sebewaing mission station so that he may be instructed and trained there as a mission student by missionary Auch. As his teacher assures us, his gift for languages is good, and we have hope that God will let this boy first grow into a capable interpreter, who can then afterward be trained as a missionary able to preach independently in the Indian language.

As for the needs of our stations for the coming year, they are expected to be as follows:

1. Bethany station $ 265.00
Note. — The personal needs of missionary Baierlein are
covered from Nuremberg, so that even a surplus of 48 dollars
   flows into our mission treasury.
2. Sebewaing and Shiboygan stations 228.00
3. Building a house at Shiboygan 400.00
4. Printing of the Indian catechism 50.00
5. Support of Mr. Eißfeldt 30.00
6. Covering the needs of Mr. Röder 20.00
7. Covering the needs of Heinrich Crämer 10.00

   Total $1003.00

For the last half-year they were as follows:

1. Bethany station $ 153.00
2. Sebewaing and Shiboygan stations 292.00
3. Pastor Clöter 20.00
4. Missionary Maier 30.00
5. Miscellaneous expenses 2.50
6. Cantor Pinkepank 6.00

   Total $ 503.50

The dear members of the Synod can see from this the great needs for the coming half-year, and we add that 400 dollars are still lacking to cover the 1003 dollars. May the Lord direct all our hearts so that we gladly pray and give for this, that God's kingdom may be increased among the heathen. To Him alone we entrust the further progress of the heathen mission; the cause is His. Amen.
