V. Der Kirchenviſitationen ſind im verfloſſenen Jahre neun gehalten
worden.

V. Nine church visitations were held in the past year. For this purpose
the Vice-President visited the Reverend Pastors Jäbker, Hattstädt,
Trautmann, Fritze, Stecher, and Reichhardt, and the President visited the
Reverend Pastors Keyl, Hoyer, Birkmann, and Schliepsiek. Although,
according to the report submitted by the Vice-President, the congregations
visited do not stand at the same level of knowledge, experience, faith,
and Christian life, no lack of faithfulness and diligence in furthering
them was observed in any of the brothers who serve them; rather, with
thanks to God, the heartfelt care for their congregations must be
acknowledged in all of them. The congregations I myself visited likewise
left me with the impression that they were provided by the Lord with
faithful shepherds who care with earnestness and zeal for the salvation
of the souls entrusted to them. Later reports from our dear brother
Hoyer, however, give cause to fear that, despite all his self-sacrifice,
there is little hope for a field of labor suited to his abilities.
Because of news that reached them too late, I was not able to hold a
proper visitation with the Reverend Pastors Holls and Rennicke —
