SOUTHERN FIELD
By Rev. E. H. Wildgrube, Chairman, Regional Mission Committee
When we today see the great progress which is being made
in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi in every physical depart-
ment; when we see skyscrapers rising out of the ground where
only yesterday we have seen buildings one hardly looked upon;
when we see bridges spanning the mighty Mississippi, which only
yesterday were a dream; when we see beautiful housing projects
springing up where only yesterday we have seen tumble-down
shacks in dirty and disgraceful yards; when we see, almost every-
where we look, the astounding progress that has been made in the
past few years— then we thank God that He has given a spirit
and an enthusiasm in our churches to march forward also, to march
forward in His name, to build churches and schools in commu-
nities where people are flowing together rapidly; to cause the
cleansing and life-giving blood of the Savior to flow freely into
the hearts of sin-sick and dying people; and to raise up a people
from the dust and the destruction of this world to a life in God
our Savior, to His eternal glory and honor and praise.
