side in this limited area, so we give more attention to buildin
within the congregation in an effort to lift our people up in the
Knowledge of God’s Word and in the exercise of their God-gi
faith.

Efforts to reduce the subsidy requested from the Missiona:
Board have been made within the limits of our increased offerin
in the biennium. At present the congregation is responsible. fo:
its normal operating expenses with the exception of the pastor’s +
and teacher’s salaries toward which $25.00 per month is paid. :

The day-school classes are held in our single building during |
the week, and on Sundays it is converted into our chapel. This %
building is another World War II barracks converted, and will soon *
have to be replaced, The plan is to begin a building fund and then 3
apply to the extension fund for a loan for the balance. According ,3
to our plans we should be able to construct a pleasing and ade- 3
quate structure, exclusive of furnishings, for about $3,000.

. God’s blessings have been showered upon us during the past 4
two years, for which we raise our hearts and voices to Him who
alone is to be praised. Hearty thanks are also expressed to the
members of the Missionary Board and all our fellow Lutheran
Christians who have so unselfishly given of their goods to aid us
through the Synodical Conference. We offer our prayers for a suc-
cessful and God-pleasing convention and implore your continued
prayers and aid for us. R. A. Eccert

Ebenezer Ev. Lutheran Church was organized on May 29, 1925.
During the years the congregation has been served by many pas-
tors, We are still bending our efforts towards the construction of
a new church, Our building fund is still growing.

The enrollment in our Christian day school increases every
year. For that reason it was necessary to add another teacher to
our staff. The baptisms and confirmations are the fruits of our
Christian day school. We hope that through it we shall be able to
build a large congregation. The Alabama-Florida Lutheran Con-
ference assisted us with mission money to equip our school rooms
with more desks.

We hope that the Lord will continue to bless our work here.
Naturally, we are thankful for all the assistance received from the
Missionary Board. May God speed the day when we shall be a self-
sustaining congregation. W. J. TERVALON
