Aufnahme neuer Mitglieder.

Bei der diesjährigen Synodal⸗Verſammlung wurden 16 Prediger,
5 Schullehrer und 18 Gemeinden in unſern Synodalverband aufgenommen;
nämlich die Paſtoren: J. F. Köſtering, J. L. Daib, F. Dietz, H. König als
ſtimmberechtigte; die Paſtoren J. Ch. W. Lindemann, F. W. Föhlinger,
H. Jüngel, J. M. Hahn, F. W. John, G. Schick, H. Bauer, F. J. Th.

band aufgenommen:

 1. Die ev.⸗luth. Martini⸗Gem. an Old Piqua Road, Allen County, Ind.
 2. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Petri⸗Gem. in Macomb County, Mich.
 3. Die ev.⸗luth. Immanuels⸗Gem. in Saliſburg Townſhip bei Pomeroy, O.
 4. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Michaels⸗Gem. zu Lower Saginaw, Saginaw Co., Mich.
 5. Die ev.⸗luth. Dreieinigkeits⸗Gem. zu Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 6. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Johannis⸗Gem. zu Watertown, Wis.
 7. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Pauls⸗Gem. zu Lafayette, Ind.
 8. Die ev.⸗lutheriſche Gemeinde zu Cheſter, Illinois.
 9. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Johannis⸗Gem. zu Euclid, Ohio.
10. Die ev.⸗luth. Dreieinigkeits⸗Gem. in Allen County, Ind.
11. Die ev.⸗luth. Immanuels⸗Gem. bei Watertown, Wis.
12. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Peters⸗Gem. zu Middleton, Norfolk County, Can. Weſt.
13. Die evangeliſch⸗luth. Gemeinde zu Neu Bielefeld, Mo.
14. Die ev.⸗luth. St. Pauls⸗Gem. in St. Joſeph County, Ind.
15. Die evang.⸗lutheriſche Gemeinde zu Oeſtreich, Cape Girardeau County, Mo.
16. Die evang.⸗lutheriſche Gemeinde zu Greenville, O.
17. Die ev.⸗luth. Zions⸗Gem. an der Sandy Creek, Jefferſon County, Mo.
18. Die ev.⸗luth. Immanuels⸗Gem. in Chicago, Ill.

Admission of New Members.

At this year's convention, 16 preachers, 5 schoolteachers, and 18
congregations were admitted into our synodical fellowship; namely the
pastors J. F. Köstering, J. L. Daib, F. Dietz, and H. König as voting
members; the pastors J. Ch. W. Lindemann, F. W. Föhlinger, H. Jüngel,
J. M. Hahn, F. W. John, G. Schick, H. Bauer, F. J. Th. Jungk,
F. Riemenschneider, J. F. Böling, J. N. Beyer, and candidate Th.
Gruber, and the schoolteachers H. Habermehl, F. Kundinger, S. Riedel,
H. Riebling, and H. Wedell as advisory members. Two of them, Pastors
John and Schick, were required by our synodical constitution to
undergo a colloquy before their admission, which in both cases turned
out to the Synod's full satisfaction. The rest of these newly admitted
preachers, as former students of our educational institutions, had
already passed their regular examination before their
advancement to the holy preaching office, and the schoolteachers
concerned had been examined by their respective preachers and
recommended to the Synod for admission. The petition of three other
preachers for admission into our synodical fellowship could not be
granted by the Synod, because serious concerns were raised against
their admission.

The following congregations were admitted into our synodical
fellowship on their petition:

 1. The Evangelical Lutheran Martini congregation on Old Piqua Road, Allen County, Ind.
 2. The Evangelical Lutheran St. Petri congregation in Macomb County, Mich.
 3. The Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel congregation in Salisburg Township near Pomeroy, O.
 4. The Evangelical Lutheran St. Michael's congregation at Lower Saginaw, Saginaw Co., Mich.
 5. The Evangelical Lutheran Trinity congregation at Cape Girardeau, Mo.
 6. The Evangelical Lutheran St. John's congregation at Watertown, Wis.
 7. The Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's congregation at Lafayette, Ind.
 8. The Evangelical Lutheran congregation at Chester, Illinois.
 9. The Evangelical Lutheran St. John's congregation at Euclid, Ohio.
10. The Evangelical Lutheran Trinity congregation in Allen County, Ind.
11. The Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel congregation near Watertown, Wis.
12. The Evangelical Lutheran St. Peter's congregation at Middleton, Norfolk County, Canada West.
13. The Evangelical Lutheran congregation at Neu Bielefeld, Mo.
14. The Evangelical Lutheran St. Paul's congregation in St. Joseph County, Ind.
15. The Evangelical Lutheran congregation at Oestreich, Cape Girardeau County, Mo.
16. The Evangelical Lutheran congregation at Greenville, O.
17. The Evangelical Lutheran Zion congregation on Sandy Creek, Jefferson County, Mo.
18. The Evangelical Lutheran Immanuel congregation in Chicago, Ill.

With this, the number of congregations standing within our synodical
fellowship has now risen to about 110, while the number of
congregations served by members of our Synod but not formally
admitted into our synodical fellowship may amount to about 30 (— an
exact list of the congregations is not yet in my hands —); certainly a
gladdening sign of how our Synod, through its pure doctrine and sound
practice, increasingly wins the confidence of congregations, and how
little the hostility and slander of ill-disposed enemies, or the
unfounded doubts and objections of ill-informed friends, are able to
hinder the growing influence and blessed activity of our Synod.
