4. In Betreff des Kirchenbannes hat er falſche Lehren geoffenbaret;

Secten, was dieſen Hirtenbrief verwirft, obgleich die Irrthümer dieſes Hirten⸗
briefs längſt aufgedeckt und nachgewieſen worden ſind.

II. Hat Herr Paſtor Krauſe ſich folgender ſchwerer Aergerniſſe in
Betreff ſeines Wandels und ſeiner Amtsführung ſchuldig
gemacht:

1. eines ungebührlichen Scheltens von der Kanzel und
eines völligen Mißbrauchs des Strafamts — zum Schimpfen und Läſtern;
Schweine in den Beichtſtuhl und als gemäſtete Säue zum Abendmahl kämen;

3. Regarding the article on the preaching office, he betrays false
doctrine in that he refused to hear the congregation when it wished to
call him to account over certain sermons. He also claims that his
congregation's bodily blessing depends on his pastoral intercession,
saying that if he did not pray for his congregation, it would get, instead
of wheat, nothing but maggots and empty straw; instead of young
calves, only scorpions; instead of pigs, only snakes. Finally he testified
that all those who did not approve of his teaching and separated from
him were accursed.

4. Regarding the church ban [*Kirchenbann*, excommunication] he has
revealed false teaching; for he placed the ban on a man named M.
Krücher because the latter did not immediately believe a report of
Pastor Grabau's, which was called "church acts" [*Kirchenacten*], and
he refused Holy Communion to those who had not granted him the 90
dollars that he unconditionally demanded for the purchase of a horse,
without listening to other, fairer proposals. Furthermore, he has
carried out the ban every time without a judgment of the congregation;
he has also banned people who did not even belong to his congregation,
and refused to marry a member of the Geyer congregation unless that
member declared the Geyer congregation to be a sect and a faction. As
soon as a large part of the Freistadt congregation protested against
Krause's conduct regarding the Milwaukee congregation, he declared
them incapable and unworthy of Holy Communion unless they did
church penance. Finally he has even turned away at least four persons
from the baptismal font on account of the aforementioned horse affair.

5. Regarding marriage he teaches that whoever has the civil authorities
marry them lives in a "swine marriage."

6. Concerning God's gracious will he teaches that God does not care
who goes to the devil.

7. In general he demands unconditional submission to Grabau's
pastoral letter [*Hirtenbrief*], and now brands as factions and sects
everything that rejects this pastoral letter, although the errors of this
pastoral letter have long since been exposed and demonstrated.

II. Has Pastor Krause made himself guilty of the following grave
offenses regarding his conduct and the exercise of his
office:

1. Of unseemly scolding from the pulpit and a complete abuse of the
office of rebuke for the purpose of insulting and reviling — thus he has
repeatedly called the members of his congregation: "devils, Lutheran
scum [*Luderaner*, a pun on *Lutheraner*], bloated belchers, stupid oxen,
old swine, donkey ears, cow eyes, moles, dung beetles" — all this with
repeated emphasis and cursing; further, "Korah's rabble," and that they
came to the confessional like fat pigs and to Communion like fattened
sows; "accursed and damned devil's folk, no longer worthy to be called
human beings"; that Kauffung (a member of the Freistadt congregation)
would be driven to hell by the devil alive on a knacker's cart — all this to
the deeply felt and continuing offense of both great and small.

2. He has proven himself a servant of his belly [*Bauchdiener*], in that,
despite his generous salary, he bound consciences by insisting they must
give him 90 dollars for a horse; he has also sued, before the civil
authorities, those members of his congregation who had separated from
him, demanding that they pay his salary until his death.
