Synod.”

Your Committee is of the opinion that the Annuit
be made more attractive to be successful. If the An
made more attractive to the servants of the Church, a }
be built up in the course of years, whereby the synodic
eventually be relieved of a heavy burden: To this end
recommends : —

1) That a record be kept of all contributions of the Servants of
the Church for this purpose;

2) That the amount received shall be increased by Proper in.
vestment ;

3) That from the time of his retirement or death the contr
respectively, his widow, shall receive an annuity for life or,
ease of children, for a definite period of years, in Proportion
total contributions made;

4) That this annuity shall be in addition to his allowance from
the Board of Support;

5) That the residue remain the property of the Annuity Fund.

6) That the details of this plan be worked out by the Board of
Support.

The Committee furthermore holds that the practise of making
bequests to Synod and particularly to the Board of Support ought to
be far more common than it is. Likewise, we desire to bring to the
notice of our Christians the praiseworthy custom of contributing to
the Support Fund by means of memorial wreaths.

This report with its recommendation was adopted by Synod.

Board of Support Transfer.

_ The following resolution, which explains itself, is recommended
to Synod for adoption: —

Wuereas, It appears that on April 30, 1925, the sum of $25,000
was transferred from the account of the Board of Support to the
eredit of the Permanent Support Fund, said action being taken on
the basis of a resolution adopted by Synod in J une, 1923; and

Wuereas, Synod at its convention in June, 1926, repealed its
resolution of 1923 authorizing such transfer, but did not authorize
the return of the $25,000 to the treasury of the Board of Support; and

Wuereas, The Board of Support was thus deprived of a large
sum of money given for its purpose, which it now needs; and

Wuerras, The Permanent Support Fund, which ostensibly is
a fund built up of voluntary contributions of the ministers and
teachers, now contains the sum of $25,000 which was not so con-
tributed; therefore be it

Resolved, That we authorize and instruct the Treasurer of Synod,
