Ev. Luth. Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and Other States. 1929. 89
The report of Committee No. 11 on these matters was as follows:
. Regarding calling pastors from Europe for this ‘mission we
mmend that only such men from Europe be called as are grad-
ted from, or recommended by, the faculty of the Seminary at
ah lendorf, Germany.
‘sic salary of these missionaries be 20 per cent. over and above the
"galary paid to the missionaries of the respective District. We recom-
and this because we have been convinced that missionaries have

fields on account of financial reasons, and since the number of those
able to speak the foreign tongues is so limited, we cannot afford to
‘lose them because of financial difficulties.
3. We recommend that $1,000 be granted for the publication of

4. We recommend that the $24,000 requested for this mission be

b. That, as soon as opportunities offer, this committee encourage
the mission-board of the respective District to start work for the
time being;
ce. That the President of Synod be empowered to appoint a Board
for Mexican Mission within the present triennium, if necessary, and
that the Board of Directors fix the budget of the same;
visable to introduce Spanish into one or more of our colleges in the
