-tive and adequate chapel, and its premises are more than ample.
The church was built at a cost of about $40,000.

When efforts in behalf of Redeemer were first begun, Zion
Church of Oklahoma City served as sponsoring parish, directing
its assistant and student pastors to serve the parish. The District

arrangements to receive a grant-loan for construction from the
“Conquest for Christ” funds.

The Oklahoma District has subsidized the work at Redeemer
-for rental in the past and is now helping the parish to make repay~
ments on its loan. Zion and Redeemer are pooling efforts to pay
$15,000 towards this.

The congregation still does not have its own resident pastor,
but, as in the past, Zion Congregation provides the ministry. In
the past year, theological student Karl Thiele devoted almost his
entire time to serving Redeemer,

At present Redeemer’s membership is 50 souls and 25 commu-
nicants. The average attendance at services is about 70.

Tulsa, Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace

Co-operation between the Missionary Board of the Synodical
Conference, ‘the Oklahoma District, and the Lutheran Council of
Greater Tulsa brought about the organization of a new church in
North Tulsa, where 25,000 Negroes live.

At first, work was done by Pastor Lutze, then of Muskogee,
and student Ervin Oermann, The District’s trailer chapel was used

when the attractive little church (English Countryside — modified
Gothic) opened its doors on dedication Sunday, September 28, 1952,
8 ood attendance showed genuine interest in the program of our
church.
-. Lutherans in the Oklahoma. District contributed about $7,000
-to the church, and the balance of about $20,000, borrowed from the
: District’s Church Extension Fund,'is being amortized over a period
..af ten years. ma. j
The trailer chapel, now wheelless, has been mounted ‘on
a foundation in the rear of the premises and is being used as
temporary educational room. 7
The Rev. Karl Lutze was asked to serve'the parish as resident
minister when the new church was built. As is the case in all the
three parishes in ‘Oklahorna, communicant ‘memberships are re-

its membership, and Sunday attentance averages 66. The Oklahoma
District is itself a subsidized District. With an ambitious mission
program planned, the District meets the opportunities the Lord
has placed before His Church there,

. The District, therefore, has appreciated the financial assistance
given it by the Missionary Board of the Synodical Conference in
our work for the Savior in these three parishes,
