BOOK TABLE.

Convention Year-Book, 1927. The Walther League, 6438
: Eggleston Ave., Chicago, Ill. Price, $1.00.

This handsome book of 126 pages contains the full
proceedings, opening sermon, reports, addresses, and many
other matters of interest, pertaining to the Thirty-fifth
International Convention of the Walther League held in
St. Louis in July of this year. The publication was edited
by Pastors Prokopy and Umbach. Those who could not
attend the convention have in this book an excellent means
of learning what was done by the Walther Leaguers at
their annual meeting, while those who were fortunate
enough to be able to attend by means of this publication
will be in a better position to live and feel over again the
happy days and inspiring hours they were permitted to
pass in St. Louis during the convention.

Schrift und Bekenntnis. Theologisches Zeitblatt. Vol. 8,
Nos.4and 5. Schriftenverein (E.Klaerner), Zwickau,
Saxony. Price of number, M.1.50. Price per year,

cordia Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo.

This is a special number of Schrift und Bekenntnis,

a theological bimonthly published by our brethren of the
Saxon Free Church. ‘This special number commemorates
the eightieth birthday of Dr. H. Z. Stallmann, editor of
the publication during its first four years. Since its first
number appeared, this theological bimonthly has received
favorable recognition at the hands of those theologians
of German tongue to whom God’s Word is the only norm
in all matters of faith and life.

Ev.-Luth. Hausfreund-Kalender, 1928. 44. Jahrgang.
Price, 18 cts. Order from Concordia Publishing
House, St. Louis, Mo.

This is the annual of our Free Church brethren in
Saxony and other states of Germany. There are not
a few American Lutherans who hail its annual appear-
ance with joy. To these this announcement will be most
welcome news. The 1928 Hausfreund-Kalender, we are
sure, will not disappoint its friends.

The Nativity, According to Luke 2,1—14. Arranged for
children’s chorus, with soprano solo and violin ob-
ligato, by J. H. F. Hoelter, Order from Concordia
Publishing House, St. Louis, Mo., or from the com-
poser, 1178 Shotwell St., San Francisco, Cal. Price,
20 cts.; $2.00 per dozen. 3

Simple in form and easily learned, yet most pleasing
to the ear is this composition of Mr. Hoelter’s. Having
these qualities, it is sure to become popular for our chil-
dren’s Christmas services. The Nativity has the follow-
ing parts: Children’s Chorus, Interlude: “Silent Night”

(violin solo), Children’s Chorus, Soprano Solo with Vio-

lin Obligato, Children’s Chorus, and nsemble. Our choir

director says that he intends to use it this Christmas for
the children’s service.
