progress has been made and that the committee, to quote its own
statement, “is not deadlocked on any issue” and that it is nearer the
goal than two years ago. -

Committee be urged to continue its work and complete its assign-
ment,

We recommend further that the Interim Committee-be asked to
publish betimes the date and place of its meetings, making it pos-
sible for interested parties to attend and present their views.

Finally, we recommend that individuals, conferences, and other
groups within the constituent synods be urged to continue a study
of the doctrine of the Church and related teachings during the next
biennium, “that the ultimate goal of complete agreement on the
vital doctrine of the Church, with its many practical implications,
be attained.”

Action by the convention: The convention adopted the com-

mittee’s report with its recommendations.
