Memorials
The Plenary Board desires to bring to the attention of th
Synodical Conference convention the following resolutions whicl
were passed in the Plenary Session of the Missionary Board ix
Chicago on April 18—19, 1950:

ence at its next convention for study and consideration.
B. “It was further resolved to recommend to the Synodical
Conference the placement of the Memphis school under the super-
vision of the Western District of the Missouri Synod.”
Re Expansion Needs
“It was resolved to call the attention of the Synodical Con-
ference to the dire need of expansion and the pressing need of
granting an additional $150,000 to cover the cost of such expansion.”
Requests for expansion are listed as follows:
a. Washington, D.C.— A new church building to be erected on
lots already acquired at 49th Place and Ames St. N.E., at a cost
of $20,000. —~ Approved by the Missionary Board provided Synod-
ical Conference makes available needed funds.
b. Kannapolis, N.C. — Chapel a necessity. Cost: $20,000. Con-
gregation has $2,500 in building fund. Can repay loan on basis
of $600 annually. Prospects for future growth very good. No
vided Synodical Conference votes needed funds.
c. High Point, N. C.— The Missionary Board is the owner of
two lots in a fine section of the city. Present location of the church
satisfactory. A parsonage is sorely needed. Congregation petitions
Board for loan of $5,000. — The Board agreed to take action as
soon as funds are made available. ,
f. Walterboro, S. C.— Prospects for establishing church here
are good. A start should be made as soon as possible with a vicar.
The sum of $1,000 is needed for the first year.— The Executive
Board was authorized to consider the matter and take whatever
action it deems necessary,
&. New York City. —'The sum of $25,000 should be allocated
for expansion purposes.
h. Tulsa, Okla. — Funds are needed to begin a mission in
a populous Negro area.
