126 Proceedings of the Forty-First Convention,

The first session since the last convention was attended, in
addition to the full committee, by Dr. S. C. Ylvisaker of Bethany
College, Mankato, Prof. J. P. Meyer of the Thiensville Seminary,
and Prof, E, Kowalke of Northwestern College. The last two were
also present at the second meeting of the Committee. The Com-
mittee gratefully acknowledges the contributions of these brethren
to the discussion.

Your Committee believes that such intersynodical discussions
should be continued in order that the ultimate goal of complete
agreement on the vital doctrine of the Church with its many
practical implications may be attained. Specific questions with
regard to the work and the problems that have occupied the
Committee may perhaps be discussed and answered at the conven-
tion, which several members of the Committee will, God willing,
attend as delegates. ,

Respectfully submitted by the Interim Committee

L. M. Petersen, A. Schaller, Pastor Winf. Schaller; Mr. F, L. Weber.)

Your Committee which was appointed to review the report of
the Interim Committee desires to submit the following for your
- consideration.

Your Committee thoroughly studied and discussed the report
of the Interim Committee as found in the Reports and Memorials
for the convention (Proceedings, p.148). We also met with mem-
.bers of the Interim Committee in two sessions in order to gain
further elucidation with regard to various points in the report cov-
ering the progress made.

We found that the Interim Committee met several times during
the past biennium for study and discussion of the issues relating
to the doctrine of the Church. At one time, agreement on several
issues was reached by the committee and a document prepared for
presentation at this convention. However, one of the members of
the Interim Committee later withdrew his assent to a portion of
the agreement because he saw, after further study, that he had
misunderstood the contents of one of the paragraphs. Since this
occurred shortly before the convention, the Interim Committee was
unable, as their report indicates, to submit definite proposals to
this convention.

However, after hearing expressions of members of the Interim
Committee, your reviewing Committee is convinced: that definite
