The forty-first convention of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod-
ical Conference of North America met at Concordia College, Fort
Wayne, Ind., August 8 to 11, 1950. In the opening service, with
Communion, on Tuesday morning at St. Paul’s Church, the Rev.
Andrew Daniel, D.D., Second Vice-President of the Conference,

on Wednesday evening at Bethlehem Church, Missionary William
H. Schweppe of Nigeria, Africa, delivered the address. The con-
vention essay by the Rev. Theo. Laetsch, D. D., dealt with the topic
