100,350 were received during 1921; 1922, $152,350. Only the most
t-of these could be granted. In order to carry on this growing

Action.

Synod resolved — ;

1. To encourage the pastors repeatedly to bring to the attention
their congregations the importance of the Church Extension Fund
for successful Home Mission work; :

9. To grant the Board’s request for separate incorporation ;

8. To authorize the Church Extension, Board to charge 5 per cent.
administration expenses on the initial loan covering five years, which
‘amount is to be discounted upon the payment of the loan, since within
a few years it will actually cost Synod that much to help congrega-
tions with such non-interest-bearing loans;

- 4. To authorize the election of a salaried Executive Secretary of
‘the General Church Extension Board. He is to be elected from the
candidates nominated by congregations by the President of Synod,
the General Church Extension Board, and the General Mission Board
represented by a single vote. ,

during the past three years. — The vacancies in the board caused by
the resignations of Pastor E. Zapf and Mr. Carl Zollmann were filled
by Pastor E. G. Jehn and Mr. H. F. Rohrman. Owing to the increased
work two members were added: Rev. Aug. Burgdorf for correspon-
dence with South America and Prof. W. H. T. Dau for correspondence
- . with Europe. Thirty-six regular antl thirty-three gpecial meetings

were conducted. Pastor Burgdorf was sent to South America; where
his presence proved of material assistance to the brethren in the dark
days following the resignation of Prof. Kunstmann. Prof. Dau was

sent to Europe. No special report was received from Lendon. In
general, the work igs progressing. ;
