system. The vote for approval was unanimous.
The assembly also voted to extend the orders of the day
for the morning session until 12:30 p.m. This was to allow
adequate time for validating the voting pads and com-
pleting the election of a president.
Standing Rules
Dr. Walter Rosin, secretary of the Synod, presented the
proposed standing rules for the convention to the dele-

By common consent of the assembly, line 13 was
changed to read “... governed by Roberts Rules of Order,
Scott, Foresman and Company, 1981 edition.”
An amendment was proposed to delete the words “with-

Further action on the Standing Rules was postponed
until the afternoon session.

The chairman of the committee reported in response to
a question from the floor that the number of machines
which had been validated prior to the voting for the office

lost. The delegates indicated by a show of hands that the
assembly accepted the report and did not require a re-

allotted time, per committee appearance before the con-
vention.” The amendment failed.
A motion was then made and approved to adopt the
Standing Rules as amended.
